Our Path To Becoming a B-Corp
We do our best for our employees, our local community and the producers we work with. As a woman-owned, family business we want to have those values confirmed. This is why we made the decision to become B certified and announced it earlier this year.
It has been a long path, but we are almost there. Read on to discover about our journey towards becoming B certified and why it matters to our company and our community.

Why do we Want to Become Certified?
After many years of carrying our operations, we identified different areas of improvement. Meeting the requirements of certifications, such as B corp help us stay on track with our goals.
It is a well known fact that over the years, the process of obtaining a B Corp certification has been reviewed and adjusted, following the feedback from the general public, patrons at different sectors and members of supply chains.
Undergoing this rigorous process is a step forward to show our commitment first and foremost to the coffee farmers we have partnered with for many years, to our local community, and our employees, to whom we owe the bulk of our success and whose well-being we are strongly invested to improve.
Environmental Sustainability - Use of Resources
We have previously mentioned how we exchange feedback with our partner coffee farmers and how we help them thrive and ensure they use sustainable farming practices. We have also made our roastery sustainable by making our roasting process energy-efficient and how we have ensured operations at our cafés are environmentally friendly.
However, undergoing the B corp certification process help us ensure we stick to these goals and has actually brought us closer to our partner farmers, because we have talked to them about how they manage their own farm employees, the challenges they face and we got reassured that they are doing their best, in an environment where they often find themselves at the mercy of low coffee prices.
We feel even more motivated to make our operations as local as possible and will bring them to Central Oxford to reduce distances between our facilities and transportation. More on this soon!

Still, a Long Way To Go
Having a positive social and environmental impact is a continuous journey. Our current efforts and achieving the B Corp certification do not mean that we will stop there. We decided to become strongly committed to our community, suppliers, employees and our city and give back everything that we have achieved thanks to our joined efforts.
A HUGE step for a small family company!
